Wilmington, NC – The web developers at webworks89 released their latest website that showcases the latest features in responsive website design. The new site was built for Fortune Place, an up-and-coming neighborhood still in development.

The Fortune Place community will be found just off of Carolina Beach Road, North of Monkey Junction. This neighborhood will consist of 38 single family lots, freshly built by Horizon Homes and Herrington Homes builders. The average lot in this new community will average about 8,680 square feet per lot and the target price should range from the low to mid $200’s. Winding pathways will connect neighbors and lead them to a park and neighborhood pool. Robin and Dean Hackney are designers and developers at Horizon Homes and responsible for much of the Fortune Place development. As this beautiful community continues to be built, it became evident that a new website would have to follow suite. Fortune Place decided to reach out to the developers at webworks89 to build a home for their business.

Responsive Design

The new website for Fortune Place showcases all of the latest in responsive web design. So what is responsive design? Responsive web design basically means that a web page will be able to adjust it’s format to whatever device is accessing it. With a growing number of mobile users, Google has actually begun to favor these responsive websites in Google searches, so that users are sent to ‘user friendly’ websites. This sites use content management systems (CMS) like WordPress to neatly structure and organize content. WordPress is easy to use, even for those who are not IT savvy.

When users come to the Fortune Place website, they will immediately notice the clean look. A large slider of the future pool area covers the majority of the home page. Above are 5 tabs that guide the user’s navigation in a precise manner. The custom design tab has a drop down of Horizon Homes and Herrington Homes builders; on this page you can take virtual tours and analyze floor plans of the various model homes under construction. There is also a site plan that shows the layout of the entire community and an About Us page that gives some background knowledge on the fortune Place community.
