Pender EMS and Fire Announces New Responsive Website

Posted on Jan 05, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Wilmington, NC – January 5, 2014 – The New Year means a new website for the citizens served by the men and women of the Pender County EMS and Fire Department. Pender EMS and Fire recently launched their new responsive website, which is already receiving very positive feedback. Chief of the department, Woody Sullivan made the announcement. “Our old site was dated and we needed a truly responsive website,” said Sullivan. “More and more people today are accessing the Internet via their smartphone or tablet device, so we needed a site that responded accurately to the device regardless of the screen’s size or shape.” The new responsive website is visible at the following URL www.penderems.com

With 50,000 year-round residents and an influx of 300,000 seasonal tourists, the Pender EMS and Fire are kept quite busy covering the 857 square miles under their jurisdiction.

The Pender EMS and Fire Department is home to 132 full time and 60 part time fire and emergency medical personnel. These first responders are housed in six EMS stations and six fire stations, four engine companies and two ladder companies. Additionally, due to the proximity of coastal and intra-coastal waterways, they man boat operations based on the east and west sides of the county.

“Putting out fires and saving lives is our charge,” says Assistant Chief, Everett Baysden. “We are professional first responders and know exactly what to do in most life or death situations. But when it came to building our new website, we turned to the professionals over at CFWebmasters. They’ve been in business for over 25 years here in Wilmington and building websites for 17, so it was an easy choice for us.” he added.

“We have a responsibility to communicate with the public,” says Baysden. “We are in the digital age for sure, and phone and email just won’t cut it these days, so this new website, integrated with our Facebook page and other social channels helps us fulfill that responsibility. The department’s Facebook page can be accessed at www.facebook.com/PenderEmsFire.
