Ray Rogers recognizes the paradigm shift of how more users are browsing the internet utilizing mobile devices than desktop computers, so when Google officially announces that starting April 21st 2015 they will be offering preference to mobile-friendly websites (and more specifically responsive design websites), Ray realizes that with this shift he must also adapt in order to fill the needs of mobile device users for both personal use and business.

CFWebmasters.com rebrands and becomes WebWorks89. The company was founded in 1989 and the “89” in the new name represents that history. Since 1989 the company has evolved to represent all things digital. The company now offers a full suite of services including web design and development, digital marketing and IT solutions for business.

Cape Fear Webmasters starts providing the first commercially developed custom content management system (CMS) websites using the DotNetNuke (DNN) platform.

2008 – Business continues to grow exponentially, and with this growth came the need for a larger location, so Cape Fear Webmasters and Cape Fear Computer Center move to their current location at 5006 Randall Parkway in Wilmington.

By the year 2000 hundreds of companies have turned to Cape Fear Webmasters to provide a custom website that suits their particular needs, but Mr. Rogers sees that the real estate industry needed an integrated solution that would allow brokers and agents to showcase their property listings seamlessly on their websites, so he creates a vertical market for real estate by developing Broker IDX. His software becomes the de facto resource for real estate website development. That same year Cape Fear Webmasters becomes Microsoft Certified and starts to provide IT services for small to medium sized business.

Since the advent of the internet, Ray Rogers realized that there was an increasing demand for computer users to be able to access the internet through a “dial up” connection, so he opens Cape Fear Webmasters and becomes the 2nd Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Wilmington, and compliments this new service by also providing both web development and hosting to businesses throughout the Carolina’s.

Ray Rogers recognizes the future of how computers are becoming an ever increasing integration for both personal use and business, and responds to market demands by expanding his business with opening Cape Fear Computer Center, and moves to a larger location at 4951 University Drive in Wilmington. Cape Fear Computer Center provides computer sales, service, and training that is done both at the University Drive location, as well as at customers locations.

Ray Rogers launches Cape Fear Office Machines Inc. & Cape Fear Cash Register Inc. located at the N. 17th Street Shopping Center in Wilmington, NC. Cape Fear Office Machines provides sales and service of typewriters, fax machines, copy machines, postage meters, and Paymaster check printers. Cape Fear Cash Register provides sales and service of TEC cash registers, Point of Sale (POS) systems and restaurant systems, along with office supplies.
